The increasing popularity of using computers to record and store audio has seen the rise of the Rode NT-USB USB Microphone.
This microphone is able to record into most standard Windows and Mac OS and the Apple iPad using either Rode's Rec recording software, GarageBand or any other recording app. Just bear in mind if you want to use it with an iPad, then get the correct plug in adaptor.
The NT-USB is predominantly a vocal and musical microphone. So it's ideal for voice use like podcasting or voice over, as well as singing and playing a guitar. Record a demo or documentary!
You don't need a complicated interface for the NT-USB. You can easily hear what's going in using the headphone socket on the side of the microphone without any of the delay inherent to some interfaces.
You'll need a good pop filter - it's like a screen that sits between your mouth and the microphone, it softens out the loud pop sound that your 'b' and 'p' sound makes which can destroy a recording. Fortunately the Rode NT-USB comes complete with a premium pop-filter.
You'll also need a stand mount to sit the microphone on. The NT-USB has a desktop tripod stand, so it's ready to go at home or in a studio or office.
The protective pouch keeps the microphone free from damage and dust when you are not using it.
